The Mighty Big Mac

This view of the Mighty Big Mac was seen through artistic eyes in the summer of 1969 during a family vacation. A view through the Birches with the bridge in the background was stunning., and left an impression in the artist's eye.

Dodging Time II

This old dodge was left in our woods many years ago. As it aged, it gained a bit of character and grace. The colors are a natural on the color wheel. It also "talks of by-gone days".

Ogden Station Memories

This is an old grain mill, used by Blissfield Co-0p for many years. My father-in-law used to drive his team of horses, with grain wagon to this mill in the 1930's and 1940's. I wanted to preserve it as it looks in the 2000's , the weather and time is starting to take its toll on the old building.
After I painted this picture, part of the building was blown down, in
2006. I was very intrigued by the turquoise door, and all of the
different angles and roof lines.

This a small 5X7" gelatin print on black paper. It was my first try at print making. It was fun to do and the results are always a surprise.

Three and Me

This painting was done at a Great Lakes Plein Air Paint -Out at the Sparks Park in Jackson Michigan. Jim Markel came to look over painting options for a future Plein Air Workshop. We had a grand time, the weather was perfect that day. The three geese would not cooperate, so they had to be added to the painting when I returned to the studio. That is were the camera did it's work.

Tulip Surprise

This Liliodendron Tulipifera (Tulip Poplar) blossom is painted in Pastel. It was painted four days before Charlie passed away. One of his favorite trees and blossoms. The beautiful blue softness of the outer cup and green and orange of the inner cup, makes for an interesting blossom. The stamen are a soft yellow and very floaty.
The tree has to be 10 or so years old to produce beautiful blossoms.

Rhysh's Wonder

Our grandson, Rhysh, was holding one of Charlie's doves close to him. He felt a heart-beat, he held the dove away, and felt for the heart-beat. He was in wonder, if it was his heart-beat or the doves. I liked the emotion felt, as he was discovering the answer.
